Alpay Gumrukcu

Alpay is an award winning Integrated Art Director who has over 10 years of experience in advertising and visual communication.

He smelled the beautiful odor of designing during his summer internship at Ogilvy when he was 18 years old and drew his career path towards designing in advertising. Coming from apprenticeship, he mastered each and every stage of design and production in both print and digital design in years.. 

He has known as a proactive, self starter, idea generator designer who creates vision for marketing and media..

He has had the privilege of working for globally known advertising & design agencies and led designers, production artists, developers. and partnered with copywriters and account team members as an Art Director in many different countries. Aside from agency experiences. He has also had management experiences with his own boutique design agency he has started in 2013 and designed digital; corporate websites, landing pages, email blasts, video displays, infographic animations in after effects, 3D modeling and rendering, print and experiential experiences; trade show events, booth designs to name a few.

One significant achievement he is proud of from that period in his career is that he helped one of his clients to become the regional distributor after their sales rocketed in 2016 and the ROI of digital and print advertising hits 1/10.

He has diverse experiences and variety of multi channel works in his portfolio. Some of the regional and global clients he has worked for are; BMW, Mercedes, Alliance Insurance, AIG Chartis Insurance, BNP Paribas, UBS, Walmart, Microsoft, P&G, Sprint, Cummins, Danone, Johnson&Johnson.

He is holding a Master of Fine Arts Degree on Design and Technology from Parsons The Newschool in New York, a Master of Arts degree on Visual Design from Politecnico Di Design from Italy, Milano and a Bachelor of Arts degree on Graphic Design from Yeditepe University.

He believes a strong education helps provide proven insight and visual solutions based on experiences.

One other strong suit he has is his ability of convincing people by using visual communication as a tool which is basically what the end goal is in most of the projects he took part.
